If you have found something you like in our showroom or on the website, but would like different dimensions please get in touch, we will be very happy to help with discussing options and measuring up where necessary.
If you haven’t found just what you are looking for on our website please send us a sketch or an image and we’ll see if we can make it for you and provide a quotation.
Our standard 10% deposit is required to confirm your order (up to a maximum of 50%), with the balance due on or near delivery. Your deposit can be paid by credit card (in person or over the telephone), by bank transfer (please contact us for account details), by cheque (7 days prior to delivery / collection) or good old fashioned cash on collection / delivery.
Current Lead times
All our bespoke furniture is handmade to order. Normal lead time os 2 to 3 weeks, but at busy times, or instances of out of stock timber taking longer to deliver, some orders may take up to 8 weeks from receipt of deposit. If you have a tight deadline to meet, please discuss this with us prior to ordering and aim to get your order placed as early as possible.
We prefer to personally deliver your order where possible, local delivery is often offered free of charge and our aim is to deliver as quickly as possible. Friday afternoon is our favoured delivery window, however, we aim to deliver at a time to suit you and this includes evenings and weekends where possible.
If your postcode is beyond our reach we will arrange for a courier and this will be charged at cost and quoted prior to order. Please email us the first line of your address and your postcode if you require a quotation, together with details of the furniture you are interested in, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
In most instances, your furniture comes pre-assembled and where necessary we will assemble and install your furniture in a room of your choice at no extra charge.
If you amend your order at any time, please be aware that it may result in a delay.
In some cases, we are happy to take your old furniture away, please discuss with us prior to delivery.
We cannot accept responsibility for deliveries delayed due to circumstances beyond our control (bad weather, material sourcing and transport strikes etc).
Please advise us if there are any accessibility issues for a large van to reach your property.
Please ensure that you have measured very carefully where your furniture is going to go. Older properties and cottages often have short and narrow doorways, smaller staircases and tight corners which occasionally make it impossible to deliver your order. Please check these details carefully in advance of placing your order as we cannot issue refunds for items that will not fit in your desired location!
Guarantees and Refunds
We use locally sourced sustainable timber wherever possible in all of our furniture. We endeavour to select pieces of timber for your project that contains as much of the character that you would expect.
The Characteristics of Natural Wood
Wood is a natural material and as a result will contain various marks and characteristics. Your furniture may contain knots, cracks and grain and colour variations for example. These are natural, and desirable features which demonstrate the individuality of the wood. These features will not therefore, affect the durability or performance of the furniture in any way. Since each tree is unique, natural markings will vary from tree to tree. This will result in some timbers with no markings, and others with some.
Our furniture may contain knots and variation in grain pattern, small knots, small shakes (slight cracks which are a natural element of the timber). However, these minor flaws will not impair the performance of your furniture. Whilst all our timber has been correctly dried, movement in solid wood cannot be prevented.
Care of Your Furniture
Extremes of temperature must be avoided for the first 8-12 weeks after delivery. After fitting, small cracks may appear, this is entirely normal and is regarded as part of the natural beauty of the timber. Cracks can be easily filled with a coloured wax filler. Cracks and movements do not constitute any fault with the timber or in its’ construction – timber is a natural product and will move/change over time.
All the furniture we make is unique and handmade to order, therefore colouring and grain patterns will vary from piece to piece, with no two pieces being exactly the same. Consequently, we cannot guarantee any replication of colour from piece to piece.
Environmental Effects on Wood
Wooden furniture is affected by heat and moisture. Therefore a hot dry environment (such as underfloor heating) may cause timber to shrink, whilst a damp environment will cause it to swell. Knots, cracks, drying shakes and movement are inherent characteristics of natural timber. They are not considered a fault in the wood or our workmanship. Great care has been taken to reduce the incidence of this, however the complete elimination is i not possible.
We cannot be held responsible for movement in our furniture caused by exposure to extremes of temperature, such as next to a radiator or exposed to direct sunlight. Movement caused by an unnaturally dry atmosphere in a room with under-floor heating is not our responsibility. Exposure to these changes may cause some shrinking and splitting – which we regret we cannot accept as reason for refund.
Cancellation of Orders
In some instances, orders can be cancelled up to 7 days after point of order – providing production of the furniture has not begun, and will be subject to a 50% refund of the deposit placed.
We hand make our furniture to order with every item of furniture bespoke and to your requirements, therefore once the cancellation period has elapsed any refunds will be at our discretion.
